Virginia Fares Better than Many Regions
Local unemployment rates,are not as bad here in Virginia .Virginia unemployment (projecting 3.9 percent rate, a bit lower than the 4.6 percent the economy actually registered), third closest on District unemployment (forecasting 6.3 percent, compared with the actual 8.4 percent) and fourth on Maryland's rate (forecasting 4.3 percent vs. 5.1 percent). The regions economy was always thought to be recession resistant due to the large Government Sector,but the severe decline has taken a toll on the local economy
